Job Overview: 

Formulation and Implementation of Company I.T policy

Maintain and support both hardware and software, manage and support LAN & WAN, support network users, server operating systems, messaging system, maintain data backup, security and server administration, control and monitor telecommunication devices, etc.

 

 

  • Monitor server and network performance and anticipate required changes/upgrades to optimize performance to ensure availability of servers and network to support operational needs of the company.

 

  • Management and administration of Microsoft Exchange Server, including users’ mailbox administration, email queues flow monitoring , databases back up, Outlook Web Access (OWA) support.

 

  • Manage Service Level Agreements with all vendors and consultants.

 

  • Manage all warrantee Agreements with all vendors and suppliers.

 

  • Design and implement group policy objects in line with approved I. T policy.

Responsibilities:

 

§  Maintain adequate records of all LAN and WAN configuration parameters such IP addresses, Firewall configuration, switches, bridges, modems and routers settings and cabling connectivity. Maintain LAN and VSAT connection to ensure uninterrupted access to needed resources.

 

§  Manage the domain and Messaging infrastructure based on Microsoft windows 2003 server and exchange server 2000/2003 in a mixed domain

 

§  Monitor server and network performance and anticipate required changes/upgrades to optimize performance to ensure availability of servers and network to support operational needs of the company.

 

§  Perform installations, repair, and preventive maintenance of personal computer and other IT related systems

 

§  Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems as they relate to desktop or laptop computers. Troubleshoot and repair workstations, printers and other computer peripherals.

 

§  Provide assistance to users and administer user accounts in the domain controller, ensuring security of stored information, giving access shared and security permissions to relevant users, joining workstations to the network, configure IP settings and manage of user mailboxes in the exchange server

 

§  Provide support to remote desktop users in connecting to the terminal server and manage terminal printing sub-system.

 

  • Update all software and hardware systems. Ensuring application of tested and certified hardware drivers, timely application of operating systems and application software updates, patches, service packs and hot-fixes. Ensure that Anti-virus scan engines are up-to-date.

 

  • Rebuild PC’s with fresh installation of Windows XP Professional or upgrade when necessary.

 

  • Manage, monitor and control telecommunication devices such as telephone land lines, gsm lines, voip and resident phones and internet subscription to ensure that they ate not out of credit or service.

 

  • Troubleshoot Laptops, desktop workstations, phone issues, web connectivity, messaging problems, DNS, WINS and DHCP issues, terminal services printing issues, remote desktop emulation issues and other Timberline problems.

 

  • Provide data security and control, change data cartridges on daily, weekly and monthly basis to facilitate effective backup and restore operation. Strictly adhere to the group policy on safety and disaster recovery procedures. Participates in disaster recovery testing periodically.

 

  • Function as an off hours point of contact in case of unplanned events

  • Provide solution to issues that may be raised at the plant regarding IT. Be involved in major IT Project such as platform upgrade, hardware upgrade
